WHAT DOES YOUR FUTURE HOLD?
Our transition program helps prepare teens for the future
A Transition Program for Future Readiness
What does your student aspire to become? Most importantly, are they prepared for the real world?
Our comprehensive transition program will help your student prepare for life beyond high school. This program will encourage students to develop and apply their skills to different interests.
It is designed to teach independent living skills, and prepare students for either employment or post-secondary education.
As students make progress, they fine-tune their work abilities, determine job preferences, and learn to work with growing independence.
What to Expect
The Exploration Lab: Real, Hands-on Experience
Our PAES Lab (Practical Assessment Exploration System) allows students to become “employees” and teachers to become “employers.” We use this lab to assess a student's competitive work potential and interest level while simultaneously exploring various jobs, using real tools, and developing proper work behaviors in construction, industrial industry, service, computer technology, processing, production, and business and marketing.
Getting Out Into the Community
Weekly community outings allow students to explore a variety of businesses in person with the goal of internship or future employment. These outings also enable students to hone daily living skills, including accessing public transportation, retail shopping at a big box or grocery store, and finding entertainment spots.
Independence: Learning the Ins & Outs of Adulthood
From Personal Finance classes to Lyfe 101 and Apartment Living, students will learn the ins and outs of independent living. This includes things like signing a lease, moving in, keeping the apartment clean, cooking simple meals, being a good roommate, and other practical tasks like making a doctor’s appointment or ordering an Uber.
