What is the Great Milkweed Grow Out?

PS Academy is now a certified monarch waystation! This amazing project that our students are doing is in partnership with Desert Botanical Garden. The Great Milkweed Grow Out is a program through Desert Botanical Garden to set up gardens to grow milkweeds for monarch butterfly conservation. PS Academy students are involved in many ways!

Students in Chef Colleen’s Culinary class, Ms. Wozniak’s Life Science and Integrated Science students, planted milkweed for our monarch butterfly exhibit. For the garden boxes, Ms. Lint’s Art students are painting tiles with words of gratitude. Ms. Barkley's Math students will measure the milkweed growth.
