Our Student Profile

At PS Academy, students are not grouped by age or grade, but instead by their abilities. Each student will be able to find their ideal place through our variety of programs and grow during their time here. We pride ourselves on not defining your student by their diagnosis. With this, we are able to offer carefully crafted educational plans for students.

With the nature of our programs, we do hold our students to high standards both in and outside the classroom. We strive to find and identify students who would best fit our programs and community.

On-campus, we have a number of clubs and electives to not only expose our students to different areas but also prepare them for life after PS, whether that be a professional career or attending college.

With this in mind, we are selective in our admissions process to ensure we have the resources to serve each student’s specific needs and be able to provide them with their unique, customized education plan. We typically serve those who are:

STUDENT DIAGNOSES

  • Students with an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)

  • Students who struggle in typical schools

  • Students with other learning difficulties that may not have ASD

  • Students with ADD and/or ADHD

  • Students who are twice exceptional

  • Students with speech or language impairments

  • Students whose primary support needs are not emotional or behavioral, or those who need a one on one aid

  • Students who do not have aggressive behaviors or emotional disturbances (ED)

STUDENT AGE

As a K-12 school, we accept students anywhere between the ages of 5 and 22 years old.

IF my student isn’t accepted, what can I do?

Our support services are not structured for students who require the assistance of a one-on-one aide or who have severe cognitive deficits. Luckily, Arizona has many resources that can support students with these diverse needs. While we cannot accommodate students with these challenges, we are pleased to provide you with guidance and refer you to a school that can suit your student’s needs.
