PS Academy Arizona's New Focus on Secondary Education

We are excited to share a shift in our educational focus at PS Academy Arizona - as of March 2024, we have decided to focus our efforts on providing specialized education and support for secondary students from grades 6 through 12.

Why the Shift to Secondary Education?

Our commitment to empowering students with autism and other exceptionalities has always been at the heart of what we do. In listening to our students and their families, we recognized that the teenage years are crucial for growth and self-discovery, requiring us to further focus our resources on secondary education. That way, we can better support our students as they navigate these transformative years, helping create a school experience that not only means looking forward to everyday, but looking forward to life beyond high school.

What This Means for Our Elementary Program

The students currently enrolled in our elementary program  will continue to receive the same high-quality education and support but moving forward, we will refer new inquiries about elementary enrollments to other schools in the area that have elementary programs in place.

Empowering Students Beyond Academics

At PS Academy, education goes beyond academics. Our secondary program offers a wide range of opportunities for students to explore their interests, build friendships, and grow into confident young adults.

Just like any public or charter secondary school, we offer all the opportunities our students need to thrive and grow. From sports like basketball, cheerleading, and flag football to engaging clubs and electives such as student council, STEM, baking, digital art, and Rock Band, our students are encouraged to pursue their passions in a supportive and inclusive environment.

School dances and community outings also come with the territory; we understand the value of these secondary school experiences for our students. Our students may not be typical, but they are excited to have the typical high school experiences they deserve.

Looking Forward

We are excited to welcome future students to our secondary program, where they will be part of a community that truly sees and values them for their differences.

At PS Academy, we are a typical school for atypical teens, striving to make every student understand that they belong and helping them to thrive both in school and beyond. We invite you to explore what our unique programs have to offer and see why PS Academy is the right choice for your teen's education.
